Badi' island.. Spermonde archipelago, South Sulawesi, Indonesia.

Starting from the island Tanakeke south of Makassar & stretching to the north as far as Pangkep & Barru lies a vast area with over a hundred small islands. This area is part of the Makassar Strait & is usually referred to as the Spermonde Archipelago. One of the numerous islands is Badi’ island. It lies at about 22 km from Makassar, it is a small friendly & colorful island with about 400 families.

From Makassar, the trip to Badi island takes about 45-60 minutes by wooden boat with 40PK engine & only 15 minutes by speedboat with more powerful engine. On the way.. you pass the Barrang Lompo island & the sandbank gusung Bone Batang. Most visitors to Pulau Badi will arrive at the long jetty pointing to the south.

SAC - Female Divers

Badi’ island is one of marine conservation areas in Spermonde.. so that the coral reefs around the islands are still well preserved. Some of dive points on the island: Jetty, Baby coral, Foliose & DPL. Visibility about 10-15 mtr on the best season (April – October).
